Massive and elaborately decorated European revolver, circa 1870’s to 80’s. Fully and finely deep scroll engraved, nickel plated, rare original pearl grips, engraved “Dicente Cerna” on top of frame, probably the original owner. This gasser style revolver is in 11mm with 10-shot cylinder. Measures 12” overall, with 6” barrel of octagon shape, and of heavy construction and large proportions. The revolver shows Belgian proofs and is serial numbered “27”. The condition is fine to near excellent overall with 95 – 98% original nickel, just slight toning, with light beginning normal age, a few minor scratches, near excellent pearl grips with just a couple small chips at the edges and iridescent blackish blue hues. The action is crisp, the markings sharp, the interior shows little use. This massive revolver was the type favored in the kingdom of Monta Negran and other Eastern European nations near the end of the 19th century. The best of this type we have seen in more than a decade. Est: $4,000 - $8,000
