Antique. 31 cal. w/6shot floral & military etched cylinder. John Brown model w/rare 5 1/2" bbl. Tape primer mechanism in working order. Gun shows original engraving on receiver. Some original silver remains on brass grip straps. Initials "DML" on bottom of butt. Mechanically fine & a rare example of a desirable early side arm. It is known that 200 of this model was sold to the abolitionist John Brown for his use in 1857. Only approx. 1,000 total were manufactured. Also interesting was the re-designed hand turning cylinder after loosing a patent infringement case w/Colt.
