Mass. Arms Co. Maynard tape-primed revolver, .28 caliber, self-revolving, 6-shot cylinder, showing 1855 patent dates on backstrap, 2-1/2” barrel, blued finish with etched cylinder, varnish grips, serial #424, in fine to excellent original condition. Refer Flayderman 7A-059. The revolver shows 90-95% bright original blue with just slight drifting and beginning aging at the edges. The cylinder shows 97-100% of its originaletched cylinder scene. The varnish wood grips show just a couple of slight marks. The hammer shows nearly all its case hardening, the triggerguard shows nearly all original finish. The bore is near mint. A stunningexample that is as near new as a Civil War period revolver can hope to be found. Just some minor aging, a 9.8 on a 1-10 scale. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
