Mary Pickford “Dorothy Vernon” period hat from Dorothy Vernon of Haddon Hall. (Pickford, 1924) Ornate wire frame hat with tulle covering and strung with faux pearl beads and embellished with gold brocade leaf pattern. Worn by Mary Pickford as “Dorothy Vernon” when she meets Clare Eames “Queen Elizabeth” on the castle stairs. Measures 10 in. tall x 9 ½ in. wide. Exhibits slight wear to the delicate thread interlacing between the leaves; otherwise, excellent condition considering its age.
