Photograph measures 5 ½’’ x 3 ¾’’ and 6 ½’’x 4 ¼’’ on white matte. Medium contrast and focus is sharp. Photograph only has a few very small black marks on the top and bottom. The matte has slight wear on the top right and left corner. There is writing in ink on the left side of the matte that reads “Salt Air Beach. Built the middle of the lakes.” Writing on the back in pencil reads “Salt Lake City, UT.” No photographer identified. Shows two men and two children standing on a wood dock, in the background there is a large and lovely building. The building has elaborately decorated and the wood can been seen to have detailed carvings. The Saltair Pavilion was created with the goal of being the Western version of Coney Island. It was jointly owned by the Los Angles and Salt Lake Railroad Company and the LDS Church. It provided a safe and family friendly atmosphere for the community, and is still a hotspot for music and entertainment today. [ Ref: thesaltair.com/history]
