Blade front and notch rear sights, with a faint marking on the top flat of the barrel and "M.M.MASLIN/ WARRANTED" on the scroll engraved lock plate, which also has a scene of two standing gamebirds behind the lock. Michael M. Maslin was a lock maker active in Baltimore and Philadelphia circa 1822-1847. Equipped with a drum mounted nipple and double set triggers. Full stock, with brass tip, three half-circle escutcheons on either side of the forearm, teardrop panels ahead and to the rear of the lock plate, 8-pointed star and half moon panels on the left side of the buttstock and an engraved brass patch box on the right.

Condition: About good, with a number of dents and dings overall, scattered pitting, a visible crack in the hammer and a mixed brown and gray patina. Stock is good, with pressure dents and a few small cracks. Mechanically good.
