Limited Edition Smith & Wesson Model 57-3 ''Last Cartridge'' Double Action Revolver, #BFA9799, .41 mag. cal., 6'' barrel, blue finish, serrated case hardened trigger, checkered case hardened target hammer, factory checkered walnut grips with inlaid S&W medallions, red ramp front sight and adjustable outline rear sight. Right side of barrel is etched ''Last Cartridge'', with laser etched facsimile of the 1902 Dan Smith watercolor that was used in poster form to advertise S&Ws. Sideplate is additionally marked ''251 of 500''. Mfg'd in 1990 as a special limited edition by S&W and Ellett Bros., and offered as a subscription purchase with a gun for each month, this being the May edition firearm. In original two-piece metal-cornered S&W box with matching end label, owner's manual speedloader, cleaning accessories, sight adjustment tool and S&W packing paper. Condition is excellent retaining approx. 98%-99% blue, with scattered light marks from handling, moderate dragline, and small amounts of dried preservative, mainly in protected areas. Grips with a few faint impressions, the most noticeable being to the bottom edge of right grip panel; checkering remains crisp. Trigger and hammer with approx. 90%-95% case colors remaining.
