AMOS KELLOGG (1761-1826). Vermont Revolutionary War Patriot and Member of Colonel Seth Warner’s Green Mountain Boys, Brigadier General of the Vermont Militia.
February 15, 1796-Dated Federal Period, Partially-Printed Document Signed Twice “Amos Kellogg” as Justice of the Peace of Rutland County, 1 page, measuring 7.75” x 5.75”, Vermont, Choice Very Fine. Typical folds and wear from actual use, well printed and easily readable. Being an order of arrest for nonpayment of a debt. Sheriff's attestation and court costs are noted upon the blank reverse. Scarce and rarely encountered.
AMOS KELLOGG (1761-1826) was a Pioneer settler of Vermont, a member of Colonel Seth Warner's Green Mountain Boys Continental Army Regiment that served in the American Revolution at the battles of Bennington and Saratoga. In later years, he was a member of the Vermont legislature, as well as County Justice of the Peace and Brigadier General of the Vermont Militia.
