Rare 'obi' paper band for the classic Houses of the Holy album (marked Atlantic SD-7255 on the reverse), signed in black felt tip by John Bonham, John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant. The strip has been paired with a later Japanese stereo pressing of the album (P-6520A). In fine condition. The record is included. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Tracks and a letter of provenance from a previous owner, in part: "I was given the signed Houses Of The Holy band around April 1975 by a friend called Rob who had some sort of connection to the music business. I was trying to get tickets for the 1975 Earls Court concert as I was crazy about Led Zeppelin at the time. Rob said to me I have something you would like and he gave me the title band. I put this in the Earls Court Led Zeppelin programme and left it in a box and forgot about it." Includes the 1975 Earls Court program mentioned in the letter. The 'obi' is a strip of paper looped around a book or album, which is a traditional element of Japanese publishing. Against Jimmy Page's wishes, Atlantic first issued Houses of the Holy with this type of strip in order to identify the band and title against the otherwise textless album cover. As these strips are often torn or discarded, this is an exceptionally scarce signed format. A spectacular fully signed piece from a classic Zeppelin title.
