L.C. Smith Ideal Grade Double Barrel 16 Gauge Hammerless Shotgun
Built from 1914 to 1951. 2 3/4 inch chambers, choked full/modified with an extractor. Dual bead sights on a solid barrel rib. The top of the right barrel is marked "L.C. SMITH-16 GA -Ideal-FULTON, N.Y. U.S.A." with "LONDON STEEL" on the underside of both barrels. Broad floral engraved casehardened action marked "L.C. SMITH" on both side plate. Double triggers and automatic tang mounted safety. Nicely figured checkered forearm and pistol grip stock with grip cap and serrated buttplate. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches.

Condition: Excellent. The barrels retain 95% original blue finish with some minor thinning (mostly at the breech), normal wear from the forearm. The action retains 97% original case colors with areas fading to a smooth gray. The wood is very good with some minor dings and scratches and a couple minor pressure dents. There is some minor bruising in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically good.
