This lot offers a custom tooled "Keyston Brothers" saddle, out of San Francisco, circa 1910-15. The saddle shows a hand carved Sheridan-style floral motif adorning the entire saddle. The makeup of the saddle consists of a high cantle, a swell fork, leather wrapped stirrups, wonderful leather double "star" conchos, and excellent nickel-clad flat plate rigging dees. The saddle is stamped on the front of the seat and on the strap holder with "Keyston Bros-San Francisco". The saddle shows good condition for age. The saddle has a 15.5" seat. At the turn of the last century Keyston Brothers began creating saddles and later after after the great earthquake they became the largest saddle and leather shop on the Pacific. This is a very rare and desirable saddle.
