The film Kate and Leopold opens with a fly through the interior of a fanciful Big Ben style clock tower. This miniature clock mechanism was designed by New Deal Studios Cofounder Ian Hunter and featured on- screen during the opening title sequence. The miniature was shot with a snorkel lens and the gears were motorized to sync their movement with the camera. Fabricated from steel, MDF, urethane, and laser cut gears, the side of the miniature features a rapid prototyped, "grown" man-in-gear logo matching the logo of Hunter Gratzner Industries, the predecessor to New Deal Studios. Includes steel display stand. 41" wide x 57" tall. 1:4 scale.
