(Paramount, 1969) Pen & ink and watercolor with three fabric swatches affixed on special screen-printed period-style newsprint 1-ply illustration paper, 19 x 22” laid onto 4-ply mat, which is set into a larger display mat. Subject is two variations of a pioneer woman with her daughter. Executed by costume and production designer John Truscott, who performed these tasks on only one other film, Camelot, for which he won the Academy Award in both categories. An uncommonly detailed and remarkable presentation for a costume sketch. Some minor stains near margins plus light toning, and a few tiny wrinkles from the original mounting process, generally Fine overall.
