Amazing handwritten list by John Lennon penned in ink on an off-white sheet of 8.5 x 11 ABKCO memorandum sheet, no date but circa late 1969. The list is addressed to "Peter" and from "them," with the subject "Weekend," in full: "Toothbrush; hair dryer brush / Dr. Hangs Soap in brown bottle / shaving gear (wet) / ginseng / Pair of sox / Polo sweater (one each) dark / Johns jeans (blue with pockets in cupboard) / Yokos brown pants-(on bed) / That Guitar from England [adding a sketch of a guitar] / anything else you can think of worth taking / coupla teashirts (dark) / Book. i. Ching (i have coins) / extra glasses & little tape recorder (on bed)." In very good condition, with three horizontal folds, small bits of separation along edges, and a few small spots of staining and water smudges. The recipient is likely Peter Brown, an employee at Apple who also worked for Lennon. Consignor notes that the list was drawn up prior to Lennon and Ono's trip to Denmark on December 20, 1969. The couple flew to the small city of Aalborg and stayed at a Ellidsbolvej farmhouse inhabited by Ono's first husband Tony Cox, his new wife Melinde, and the six-year-old daughter of Ono and Cox, Kyoko. The pair remained with the Coxes over the new year and returned to England on January 25, 1970, most notably with newly and shortly cropped hairdos. This period abroad also produced the famed 'Denmark tapes' which sold at auction in 2002 and 2003. Pre-certified REAL.
