Offered for bidding in this lot is an antique silver janbiya dagger, or Khanjar dagger. These daggers typically show a short curved double-edged blade, with a medial ridge, and a heavily decorated scabbard - this knife is no exception. The janbiya dagger is an extremely traditional piece, worn by men residing in Yemen, India, and Saudi Arabia - The level of decoration often tells the status of the man carrying it. This particular dagger has a horn handle, that shows a beautiful color gradient. The accent on the handle of the knife, and on the scabbard appear to be silver, however, it remains untested. This knife is in good condition overall, there is a rivet missing in the handle of the knife. The knife when inserted into the scabbard measures 14 3/4" long, 3" wide, and 1 1/4" thick.
