Important group consisting of original reward poster for five masked men robbing the Downieville Stage, October 1875. Poster shows $2000 reward, approx. 16-1/2” in height by 11-1/2”, along with letter on AtlanticPacific Telegraph Company Stationary telling about this robbery of the Downieville Stage and getting out the posters, signed by W.T. McQueen. Also a Western Union telegraph slip, October 5th, 1875 from J. M. Brown,notifying Wells Fargo of the robbery. The letters are in very good condition, the reward poster is tattered and has seen exposure from being outdoors. A very rare original ensemble, the only known group ofthis kind.
