This lot features a set of small ink jars/wells from the infamous Hoi An Cargo. The Hoi An Wreck lies 22 miles off the coast of central Vietnam in the South China Sea. It was discovered by fishermen in the early 1990s. It's discovery provided a rare look into the design and details of ceramics of the 15th century. After the ship wreck discovery and excavation some of the pieces where sold at auction. Today pieces from the Hoi An cargo are becoming increasingly rare outside of large private collections. The ink well set has five pieces. Each appears to have taken some damage form being under water. The blue patterns are still visible around the top of each well. Each piece comes with a sticker stating " Saga Hoi An Hoard Visual" followed by each serial number; 223959, 223722, 223559, 224004, 222270. The overall condition of these pieces are good for their outstanding age. Measures: ~1" Diameter x 1" H
