Fixed sights, with the one line address on top of the barrel, 5 round scenes on the cylinder and matching numbers on the barrel, frame and grip straps. Smooth one-piece grip. Also included with the revolver is a pair of brown leather boots with tan canvas straps and no maker's marks, a set of Paris made LeClerc binoculars, unmarked brass bodied spyglass, a pair of amber lensed sharpshooter glasses, black leather flap holster, rawhide belt with sword hangers and U.S. buckle, a pair of spurs, a German made Model 1860 Light Cavalry sword with an etched 31" double fuller blade, 1840 profile grip and metal sheath, and finally a framed Civil War Recruiting poster, black print on paper, reading "23 MORE MEN!/ Twenty-three more men are required to fill the/ CAMBRIDGE QUOTA/ OF/ THREE YEARS VOLUNTEERS./ To that number of men who/ APPLY IMMEDIATELY/ Will be given great inducements to enlist. Come quickly and get a big Bounty while it may be/ had./ APPLY TO H.C. DANE,/ At the TENT, near the flag staff, Old Cambridge, and/ D.P. MUZZEY, at the City Hall. Dane, later Major Dane, joined the 3rd Massachusetts Cavalry in 1862, which would participate in the capture of New Orleans, the siege of Port Hudson, the Red River Expedition and operations in the Shenandoah Valley including the battles of Winchester, Fisher's Hill and Cedar Creek. After the war, Major Dane became a noted orator and lecturer, regarded among the best of his time, and toured Europe, the Near East and Australia.

Condition: Revolver is very good, showing a mixed gray patina overall, along with scattered dents and a small amount of pitting. Brass has darkened, with dents on the grips. Mechanically needs adjustment. The leather goods are fine, with cracking and scuffs, the spyglass is fair with lost stitching and fuzzy optics, binoculars are good, with lost leather, external wear and fair optics, glasses are good with cracks in the right lens, and the poster is fine with foxing of the edges and tears along the folds.
