High quality custom sporting rifle on Winchester pre-war Model 70 action, .280 Remington caliber serial #15525. The rifle is mounted with a Leupold MX 4-power scope on Redfield mounts. The rifle shows a 24” medium weight round barrel, and is finely polished and mirror bright blued finished. There is a gold plaque in the belly of the stock which reads Custom Stocked by the Bartletts. The rifle shows good quality workmanshipthroughout. The stock is select walnut with a good light color, finely checkered with rare hardwood forend cap and pistol grip cap. The stock shows a monte carlo type cheekpiece and quick detachable sling swivels. The stock measures 12-3/4” to the end of the wood, 13-7/8” to the end of the pad. The rifle is in very good plus to near fine condition with some use marks in the stock, scratches, etc, and slight loss at the edge of thefloorplate. 95-98%. The action has been engine turned and worked. The bore is fine to near excellent. Trigger pull is approx. 4lbs. A good quality rifle by a well-known stocker. From the Robert Petersen collection.
