Heavy barrel percussion slug gun or Pickett rifle by H. Volpius, Pottsville. Approx. .44 caliber rifled, 29-3/4” extra heavy barrel, 46” overall, with cast brass frame, showing wood inset rear portion of stock fancy scroll guard, barrel rest, single set trigger with unusual where the hammer protrudes from the skeletonized interior of the stock. The rifle is mounted with a high quality antique scope on adjustable mounts and shows a brownedfinish and though unsigned, it may be a Malcom product. Scope is clear, false muzzle made for this rifle is included with matching bullet starter. Condition is fine to near excellent overall with most of its originalbrown finish. The barrel measures almost 2” across the flats and the gun weighs 33.5 lbs. The bore is fine to excellent with mold, swagers, and loading accessories for competitive grade bullets. The mold isantique, the remainder of accessories are modern manufacture. Est: $3,500 - $5,500
