The lot features an exquisite fully beaded medium to large flat bag attributed to the Native American Indian tribes of the Great Lakes Woodlands region and dating to circa 1900-1920. The bag shows an Indian tanned hide construction with calico early trade clothe back. The entire front shows a loomed beaded geometric pictorial pattern in glass trade seed beads of chalk white, greasy yellow, semi-transparent amber, semi-transparent red, Cheyenne pink, medium green, cobalt blue, black, sky padre blue, and semi-transparent. The front shows an eight-pointed star having an altering color design surrounded by various geometric pictorial designs which is accented by a fancy beaded edge. The base of the bag shows a short Indian tanned hide fringe and the top shows a trade clothe tie handle. The bag shows some bead loss, but overall displays very well. Provenance: From a Manheim, Pennsylvania collection. Measures 12”L x 8.5”W.
