With over 1,000 illustrations made from photographs taken by the party, and original drawings, and with the official maps and charts. Quarto (9 ½ X 6 ¾ in., 241 X 175 mm). [xxv], 428; [xii], 444 pages. Pictorial dark blue cloth stamped in red, light blue, silver, and gold gilt. Very Good. Extremities rubbed, spines scuffed, corners bumped. One plate loose (page 136/137); otherwise, bindings and hinges sound. Contemporary ownership name in ink on the front flyleaves of both volumes, dated 1886. Large map in rear pocket of Vol. II exhibits short marginal tears and handling. Signed by A. W. Greely on the front flyleaf of Vol. I, “Yours truly, A. W. Greely, U.S. Army.”
