Flintlock musket of trade style cut down to small carbine in Indian manner with hide wrap. Measuring approx. 22-3/4” from end to end, barrel now 11” of approx. .60 smooth bore. The metal surfaces show a deep patinawith rust and erosion. The top jaw and screw are missing. The lock shows a inverted “H”. The stock is very weathered, small parts replaced long ago during use. Possibly a blanket gun that was buried in a dry climatefrom the looks of the aging. These small size big caliber arms were effectively used on horseback by plains Indians. This arm has a great look and the hide wrap is genuine to the 19th century. Est: $1,500 - $3,000
