Produced in Altenburg by M.A. Gmeiner and Son. Ramp blade front sight with protective wings, and a slot on the receiver for a peep tang sight. The barrel is lightly engraved, with a quarter rib and the maker's address on the upper right and left flats. Highly engraved Martini style action, with scenes of red deer on the left, an eagle with freshly killed rabbit on the right, floral designs and checkerboard patterns and double set triggers. Carved stock, with a glass eyed dog on the forearm tip, raised carved floral and beast designs on the buttstock, right handed thumb rest and cupped cheekpiece and a Swiss buttplate.

Condition: Very good, with 80% of the original blue finish, showing some areas of brown patina, mild edge wear and light handling marks. Bright case colors are present on the frame and trigger guard, strongest and most vivid in the protected areas. Stock is fine, with a few cracks, pressure dents and a few spots of white paint on the buttstock. Mechanically needs adjustment.
