Fine quality full-sidelock double rifle, by William Douglass & Sons, England, .22 lr caliber, finely engraved and gold inlaid, hand-detachable locks, blue and satin grey case hardened finish, serial #1131. Thebarrels measure 21-3/4”, the rifle measures 39” overall and weighs 6.4lbs. The barrels are blued with gold maker’s name and gold lines at breech. The rifle shows a full rib that is half hand polished. The three folding sights show gold inlay, the action is finely engraved with rabbits in gold in left sideplate with maker’s name. Right sideplate shows squirrels in tree with maker’s name. The bottom of the frame shows portrait of afox. The rifle shows double triggers with articulated or hinged front trigger, automatic ejectors. The stocks are highest quality checkered walnut with pistol grip, checkered butt. The stocks are satin finished and measure 15-1/4” from the front trigger to the end of the wood. The rifle is in fine to excellent condition, 98-99%, some minor firing and use.
