Manufactured from 1836 to 1844. Blade front and groove rear sights, with "US/JCS/P" on the upper left side of the barrel. The lock plate is marked with an eagle head over "A. WATERS/MILBURY, MS/1837". Smooth stock, with a swiveling ramrod, iron furniture, a pair of cartouches on the left side, and a metal buttcap. The last U.S. martial flintlock pistol, the 1836 was standard issue during the Mexican War.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel and action have smooth dark patina with some minor spotting and showing flashes of original case colors on the lock plate. The remaining metal surfaces have a dark mottled patina. The stock is also very fine with some minor pressure dents and scratches. The cartouches are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Looks like it just came out of an attic!
