Fine Quality Over/Under Combination Hammer Gun, by Franz Bieber, Mnchen, #23796, blue finish, 25-5/8'' Krupp Fluss Stahl barrels having a solid 7/16'' tapering matted rib, with a 28 ga. 2-3/4'' ch. Full choke shotgun barrel over a 5.6x35.5Rmm cal. (.22 WCF) rifle barrel and sharing a single full width extractor; windage adjustable two-leaf rear dovetail sight assembly has one standing and one folding sight, along with a small beaded blade front sight, and a standard arrangement of claw mount scope bases; shotgun barrel has a Nitro proof. Case colored miniature Roux underlever frame has back action locks with rebounding hammers, double triggers with a front set-trigger for the rifle barrel and a lever-activated narrow tang site with an engraved aperture ring; engraving pattern across the action features fine scrolls and leaf borders which carry to the forend iron, with fine matting on top of frame. The round knob birch stock and forend have a thin oil finish, 26 line-per-inch checkering and a large hunting cheekpiece. Length of pull is 13-3/4'' to a finely checkered horn buttplate; drop at comb is 1-5/8'' and drop at heel is 2-3/4''; sling swivels are 3/4'', weight is 5 lbs. Mfg'd ca. 1920. Condition is very fine with indications of minimal use. Mainsprings are strong, bores are bright with minor fouling. Barrel blue is 95% with scratches and wear on the rifle barrel near the lugs from assembly and handling; rifle barrel proofs are partially obscured. Blue is worn on the sling swivels; case colors are 70% with thinning on the right side of the frame and silvering around the lockplates. Stock is dry with slightly raised grain and scattered small dents and scratches; forend has wear in the finish and checkering. Est.: $2,200-$2,800. (C&R)
