Factory Engraved Savage Model 1899-CD Deluxe Lever Action Takedown Rifle with Factory Record
In the included Xerox copy of the Savage factory record obtained by arms historian Roe S. Clark, the following features of this rifle are confirmed: the serial number, caliber, round barrel, takedown configuration, "Fancy American" walnut pistol grip stock with type "A 5" checkering, and "A" engraving on the receiver with the name "W.F. Bradford", and the rifle was shipped December 23, 1910 to W.F. Bradford (no address given). Rifle also features a Marble No. 5 blade front sight and a buckhorn rear sight, and a cocking indicator on the upper tang. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/patent dates and "30-30". Scroll engraved receiver with leaves engraved on the receiver ring and the name "W.F. BRADFORD" on the underside. Nicely figured checkered walnut pistol grip stock with checkering on the forearm, pistol grip area and stock flats and fitted with a crescent buttplate.

Condition: Refinished. The rifle retains 80% of the blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The buttplate has a smooth gray patina and the lever retains flashes of case colors with the balance as smooth silver-gray patina. The wood has some scattered minor handling marks with some scattered minor bruising in the overall crisp checkering.
