Produced in the 1920s, the Fur Getter was a purpose-designed trap gun, meant to shoot an animal in the face at point blank range. This was accomplished by connecting the sear to a bait hook, which extends 4" past the muzzle, with the arm secured to the ground with an integral 2 1/4" screw or a 12" long steel spike (included). Marked "TAYLOR FUR GETTER. / F.C. TAYLOR FUR CO. ST. LOUIS. MO." on the left side of the frame, 1914 patent date on the reverse.
BBL: 6 inch round
Serial Number: 2636
Very fine, with an attractive patina forming on the brass components, and a few small areas of pitting on the steel parts. Mechanically excellent.
