Extremely Rare J.E. Evans  Peanut  Style Derringer Percussion Pistol with a Silver Stock
Believed to be the work of James E. Evans (1850-1872), this arm is one of only three in this configuration believed to exist. Fixed sights, with scroll engraving on the tang, breech plug, barrel, lock and hammer, a floral design on the tang and lock plate screws and a burst design on the hammer screw. Additional scroll designs are present on the stock, which is constructed from two pieces of solid cast silver, ahead of the trigger guard, opposite the lock plate and behind the tang, with a checkered bird's head butt and "HR" scratched into the right side next to the trigger.

Very good, with a mottled gray patina visible on the barrel, streaks of brighter color on the lower sides, a light brown patina on the bottom, and scattered darkening and light pitting. Traces of the original casehardened pattern are visible on the lock plate, with a mixed gray on the hammer and tang. Mild scratches and dents on the stock, with a dark aged patina in the lower and protected areas. Mechanically fine, in need of minor adjustment.
