Exquisite Curt Erickson and Julie Warenski-Erickson Gold and Silver Inlaid Dagger with Ivory Handle
This is an example of a Curt Erickson handcrafted dagger that is engraved and gold inlaid by his wife Julie Warenski-Erickson. Curt Erickson began crafting handmade knives in 1983 under the tutelage of legendary knife maker Buster Warenski, and became one of the youngest voting members of the Knifemakers Guild. In 2005, after Warenski's death, Warenski's wife, Julie, became a student of Erickson, learning how to grind and finish knife blades. According to Julie, Curt Erickson was the only person Buster Warenski had really tutored in knife making. In 2006, Curt and Julie were married, and now work together in making knives. This exquisite example of Curt Erickson's work features a 6 1/2 inch double edged blade with the steel fittings blued and flawlessly inlaid with gold and silver vine pattern by Master Engraver Julie Warenski-Erickson. The pattern extends to the blued flat surfaces of the polished blade. The dagger has a turned down cross guard with a steel and ivory pommel and a fluted ivory handle. The pommel is signed by the Master Engraver "J. WARENSKI" and the cross guard has "CURT ERICKSON" in gold. OAL: 11 1/2"
