Exceptional and Rare Colt Model 1905 Civilian "USMC" Double Action Revolver

There were 926 total revolvers that were produced from 1905 to 1909 and had its own serial number range (10001 - 10926) for the Marines. 125 of these revolvers were earmarked for civilian sale and do not have the U.S.M.C. marking, which is the case for this revolver, certainly making these extremely difficult to find or obtain on today's market. The barrel has the caliber marking on the left side and two line Hartford address/patents date marking on top. A circled Rampant Colt is stamped on the upper rear corner of the left side of the frame. The left side of the trigger guard has the Colt triangle proof and "F." The frame and crane have the assembly number "2407" and the butt has the serial number and a plugged lanyard hole. The screw heads, trigger and hammer have the high luster heat blue finish with polished hammer sides. Fitted with checkered grips featuring the diamond pattern around the screw.

Excellent plus. The revolver retains 99% bright original high blue finish showing some scattered minor high edge wear and some scattered minor spotting. The screw heads, trigger and hammer retain 97% original high luster nitre blue. The grips are excellent plus with a few minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
