Excellent WWII Mauser (S/42) 1937 Luger Military Semi Automatic Pistol
This is an excellent original example of a pre-WWII German Luger as manufactured by the Mauser factory in 1937. The serial number "6990" has no suffix, thus making it an early production 1937 S/42 Luger. The top of the chamber area is marked 1937 with S/42 markings on the front toggle. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with two early "eagle/63" Waffenamt proofs and a drooped wing firing proof. The right rear of the barrel has the droop wing eagle firing proof and the "eagle / 63" on the opposite. All serial numbers match with the last to numbers of the serial number on most of the small parts and it is marked with Geladen and Gesichert on the extractor and safety area respectively. Correctly finished in all salt blue finish including the small parts. Stock lug on the backstrap, blue unmarked magazine with pot metal base marked "S/42", "2" and "eagle / 63" proofmark, and fitted with checkered walnut grips.
