Excellent Pre-War Colt Ace Semi-Automatic Pistol with Original Box
Manufactured in 1934, this pistol is one of approximately 10,745 Ace pistols manufactured by Colt before production ceased in July 1941. The Ace pistol was introduced by Colt in 1931 as a companion arm to the Model 1911A1 Government Model. This Ace pistol has the Colt commercial blue finish, checkered walnut grips and is complete with the original 'two-tone' magazine stamped "COLT / ACE / .22 L R" on the floor plate. Blue barrel with a polished chamber. The pistol is equipped with adjustable target rear and high half moon front sights. The right side of the slide has the standard model designation marking: "COLT" followed by "ACE" enclosed in a diamond and ".22 LONG / RIFLE". The left side of the slide is roll-stamped with the elongated two-line Colt Hartford address/patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt trademark. The serial number is marked on the right side of the frame. The assembler's mark "12" appears on the right trigger guard bow, with a "3" final inspection mark and the "Colt triangle/VP" proofmark stamped on the left trigger guard bow. The top of the frame is stamped with a production order mark: "R". The pistol is complete with an original black hinge lid box with correct end label and original manual.
