Manufactured circa 1630 in Silesia located in and around Poland. Brass bead front and notch rear sights on the swamped octagonal barrel, with a series of 3 inlaid panels on the top flats at front, center and rear, engraved with geometric and scroll patterns and initialed "SA" on the chamber. The lock plate has an externally mounted spring and chain assembly, with the chain and frizzen springs protected with a cut through brass plate with swan and geometric patterns, backed with a niter blue plate, the wheel retainer is floral engraved around the spanner nut, and the serpentine is covered on the right side with a floral engraved decorative plate. Smooth full length stock, with a horn tipped ramrod, a large number of geometric and floral engraved brass panels, brass wire pin and scroll inlay, raised right handed cheekpiece, patch box with brass and stone lid, and a large number of pearl, horn, and green stone inlays, both in the wood and the brass components, a raised finger rest trigger guard and a smooth horn buttplate.

Very fine. The barrel shows a mixed gray patina on the barrel, with dark spotting and mild handling marks. The brass components are very good overall, with a well aged patina, and the backing plates on the lock show some light pitting under the blue. There is a vertical separation apparent on the lock. The stock is very good, with some light dents and a few small cracks. Mechanically untested.
