This scrimshawed powder horn measures approximately 10 3/4" long. The body of the horn features an extensive and well executed floral and vine pattern along with the inscription "MAURIES: ROBESON. Esqr / Sussix County August e/y 7th 1756" surrounded by a border. The inscription "Depend on HIM who hath me sent / On me but as an instrument" inside a border near the spout. A border also appears near the plug. Carved spout and a nail protruding from the wood plug.

Condition: Fine. There is some minor age cracking (mostly near the plug). Overall the images remain clear. A very attractive and authentic scrimshawed powder horn.
