In full: “This is to certify that John Ward lost a Grey mare supposed to have been taken by the Enemy at the taken of St. Antone valued by B. J. Mitchel Lieut. of the army and Sergeant Johnson, both Capt. Landrums Company valued at one hundred and twenty-five dollars.” In good to very good condition, with intersecting folds, two through signature, scattered moderate toning and soiling, creasing and wrinkling, and small tears along top edge.
