Included in this lot for auction is an original mid-century "Eddy's Bread and Fine Cakes", embossed tin advertising sign. The single sided sign shows vibrant painted graphics, in bright red, yellow, and navy blue. J.E. "Eddy" O'Connell has a long history of entrepreneurship with the city of Helena, as well as the Northwest region as a whole, with bakeries across the entire Northwest, Eddy started simply with a Cafe, turning the profits into a hotel and bakery. Once Eddy had established his empire, his 15 bakeries were producing one-million loaves of bread in a weeks time. In addition to his bread, Eddy's Bread was famous for their 10¢ pastries. The sign shows very-good condition for age, there is some damage to the raised edges of the sign. The bottom right hand corner of the sign is marked "M.C.A. 11-46". The piece measures 54" x 16".
