For auction in this lot is a large lithograph-on-cardboard advertisement, for Eddy's Bread, of Great Falls, Montana. The advertisement depicts Little Miss Sunbeam offering her caregiver a piece of Eddy's bread, slathered in jelly, while the family dog looks onward jealously. Eddy's Bread was part of Quality Bakers of America Cooperative, the same company who initially commissioned for Little Miss Sunbeam. The RARE advertisement originates from 1948, and is marked with the artist name "E.B. Segner" in the bottom left corner. Ellen Segner was one of few female pin-up and glamour artists of her time. Little Miss Sunbeam would become on of Ellens most famous icons. The advertisement reads "Let's Be Friends - Reach For Eddy's Bread - Bread at its Best!". Just above the blue border at the bottom of the lithograph print, you can read "©1948 Quality Bakers of America Cooperative, INC. - 154-Litho. IN U.S.A." Overall, the early advertisement shows good condition, there is some moisture staining on the right side, and typical edge wear, indicative of age. The poster is shrink wrapped to poster board for preservation. The ad measures 59 1/2" long, and 29 1/2" tall.
