Early Production Colt New Service Double Action Revolver in 44-40
Manufactured in 1903. Blade front and square notch rear sights. Barrel has the standard one line caliber marking on the left and the two-line, two-date patent markings on the top. The frame is marked with the Rampant Colt surrounded by "*COLT'S*/ NEW SERVICE", and is equipped with a checkered hammer and smooth trigger, square cylinder latch and a smooth ejector rod head. Unaltered 44 WCF chambering.

Excellent. The barrel retains 85% original blue finish with the left side of the barrel showing some thinning with a spotty gray/brown patina. The frame retains 90% of the original blue finish with spotting scattered overall and minor edge wear. The cylinder shows 95% original blue finish with a thin drag line and light edge wear. The hammer retains 90% of the niter blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The grips are excellent with crisp checkering and have aged to a deep brown color. Mechanically excellent.
