Offered for auction in this lot is a Navajo Native American Indian, Wide Ruins pattern rug. The Wide Ruins pattern is derived from the classical Chinle, though it utilizes a more intricate design, and a larger color pallet. This rug is no exception, with multiple striking horizontal bands of soft earth tones, and alternating weft colors referred to as railroad tracks. The rug shows very good condition, with no apparent color bleeding or tears in th weft. The rug measures 29 1/2" long, and 18 3/4" wide. The rug is of an earlier age and shows some of the finest tight hand knotting of any Wide Ruins pattern rug we have offered for sale, truly an excellent piece.
