Offered to you in this lot is a pair of early California style spurs. The spurs each show a fully etched heel-band, and shank, with a floral motif of flowing foliage. Additionally, each spur shows a large 8-point rowel, and swinging buttons. The spurs also include gorgeous rich leather straps, featuring fantastic hand tooling, and 17 steel tacks. The spurs include a museum tag stating the following; "The man who came to Oregon and built the first lodge on Mt. Hood wore these spurs". As well, both spurs are etched on the inside of the heel-band with "Clyde Thommen - 363-7918 - Salem, Oreg". The spurs show good condition. Each spur - without the straps, measures 3 1/2" wide, and 7 3/4" long.
