Early Colt Pre-Woodsman Semi-Automatic Target Pistol
This pistol was manufactured in 1916, the second year of production, and features the very distinctive "pencil thin" barrel. The left side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC / CAL..22LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address and the 1903 patent date. The front sight is elevation adjustable and the rear sight is adjustable for windage. The pistol has the correct checkered oval on the mainspring housing which is characteristic of the Pre-Woodsman models. The pistol has a two tone 10 round magazine marked "CAL.22 / COLT" on the bottom and is fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Excellent. The barrel retains 90% of the original blue finish with some minor thinning turning to plum and a couple minor dings. The frame and slide show 95% of the original blue with minor edge wear and some minor scratches. Grips are excellent with a few dings and handling marks in the otherwise crisp checkering. Sharp markings. Mechanically excellent.
