For your consideration in this lot is a custom inlaid knife and leather scabbard, hand crafted by Dan Gwynn from Hamilton, Montana. The knife shows deep black buffalo horn handles, with an intricate sterling silver elk inlaid into the grip. Further decorating the handle, is a large polished chunk of gem quality Kingman Spiderweb turquoise on each side, with decorative brass inserts flanking the turquoise on the top and bottom. In addition to the ornate handle, the knife utilizes a brass bolster, with a heavy-duty steel pivot rivet. When closed the Damascus drop-point blade is housed safely between hand tooled scalloped bolster lining, also crafted of fine brass. Finishing off the beautiful knife, is an intricate tooled spine. Dan Gwynn learned the art of inlay at the early age of 12, when his father Ed Gwynn made a point of instilling the values of hard work, and integrity into his children - Dan continues the tradition nearly 40 years later by teaching his two daughters and his wife the ways of the Gwynn business. This knife shows very good - unused condition. When opened, the knife measures 8 3/8" long, with a 3 7/8" blade.
