Dali Unique Decomposition Print: Divine Comedy Jupiter
This Dali woodblock print is a one of a kind decomposition from his interpretation of Dante's Divine Comedy. * Dali spent 13 years of his life to complete the Divine Comedy, which included 101 watercolors. Soon afterward, Dali supervised his engraver Raymond Jaquet in the creation of over 3,000 wood engravings to produce a limited run of portfolios. The wood engravings were immediately destroyed after the run was complete. The process of separating the colors is called "decomposition," and a special edition of these was created, depicting the print in different stages of production. * Artist: Salvador Dali Title: In the Heaven of Jupiter Suite: The Divine Comedy Year: 1964 Medium: Woodblock print in colors Condition: Mint (has been stored rolled) Certificate of Authenticity: From Nathan Daniel Isen of Philadelphia Although it is not considered a finished print, this decomposition is unique in its color and plate variation, and is deemed more rare and desirable to the collector. The Divine Comedy is considered one of Dali's most passionate series, and this mystical image of Jupiter is a fine example. *
