NATURAL DOUBLE CERTIFIED TAHITIAN BLACK PEARL NECKLACE. One Silver Tahitian Pearl Necklace One electronically tested 925 silver ladies cast & assembled Tahitian cultured pearl necklace. 20 inches Identified with markings of "925". Containing: One knotted, containing 29 Tahitian pearls, 10.0mm in size to 20.0mm in size. The pearls are black in color with a good luster, baroque, moderately blemished Graded in the setting. Tahitian cultured pearls form in the large "Black Lipped" Pinctada Margaritifera oyster, which is about twice the size of the Japanese Akoya oyster. This warm water species from across the central and South Pacific Ocean is at home in the bays and lagoons of the islands & atolls of French Polynesia. Tahitian cultured pearl farmers generally raise their oysters in lagoons. Tahitian cultured pearls take from two to four years to form. Black pearls are known for their iridescent, vibrant, almost metallic natural colors, unique among saltwater cultured pearls. Though commonly called "Tahitian" pearls, they are actually gray, to a lighter or darker degree. Tahitian pearls have the unique ability to display a variety of colors at the same time, which can be seen glistening on their surface. RESERVE or MINIMUM PRICES: If a lot is offered subject to a reserve or minimum price (the confidential minimum price below which the lot will not be sold), the Auctioneer may implement such reserve by bidding on behalf of the consignor, whether by opening bidding or continuing bidding until the reserve is obtained, or by placing consecutive bids, or bids in response to other bidders.
4. BIDDING: The Auction House reserves the right to reject a bid from any bidder. The highest bidder acknowledged by the Auctioneer shall be the purchaser. In the event of any dispute between bidders the Auctioneer shall have sole and final discretion to determine the successful bidder or to reopen bidding.
