Manufactured in 1881. This revolver has been subsequently custom embellished and finished with a gold ejector assembly, cylinder, hammer and trigger with nickel plating on the balance of the revolver. The breech end sides of the barrel, ejector housing, frame, cylinder flats, back strap and bottom of the trigger guard feature nice floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, the left side of the frame is marked with the three line, three patent dates in a panel, (Rampant Colt absent) and the left upper front of the trigger guard is marked "45 CAL". The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap, with the assembly number "1416" on the loading gate. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, "bulls-eye" ejector rod head and fitted with plastic grips with relief carved scroll designs and matte background.
BBL: 7 1/2 inch round
Gauge: 45 LC
Serial Number: 67142
Condition: Custom embellished with virtually all of the nickel finish remaining and most of the gold finish remaining with loss limited to the trigger. The trigger guard and grip frames are beginning to frost a bit. The oversized custom grips are a bit ill-fitting and remain very fine with a few light handling marks overall and some pale yellowing with age. The markings are clear, the engraving is clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
