Cuno Helfricht Deluxe Engraved Texas Shipped Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter
Colt factory letter dated July 30, 1979 states the following: "Arm shipped soft to Cuno Helfricht, El Paso, Texas in Jan. 1909 for engraving. Returned to factory in February 1909. Plating silver, Grips: Carved mother of pearl…Steer head design (now absent). Shipped to J.C. Petmecky Co. Austin, Texas…March 1909". The barrel, frame and cylinder flats are engraved with a floral scroll design with a stippled background. The top of the ejector housing, rear of the cylinder, backstrap and trigger guard have zigzag patterns, with floral and geometric designs on the front of the frame. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, the left side "45 COLT", and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and backstrap. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with smooth two piece pearl grips. The accompanying Colt letter verifies the caliber and barrel length, and states that the revolver was shipped soft to Cuno Helfricht, El Paso, Texas in January of 1909 for engraving and retuned to the factory February of 1909, silver plated and fitted with steer head pearl grips, shipped to J.C. Petmecky Co., Austin, Texas March of 1909.

Condition: Very fine as period replated, with 98% nickel finish remaining. There is some minor pitting under the finish on the cylinder. The grips are very fine with a few very small dings and chips. The engraving and markings remain crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. This is a very unique Helfricht engraved Colt SAA!
