The barrels are decorated with floral scroll designs with a double scallop border on the muzzle, and punch dot on the breech end and bordering the floral scroll engraving on the upper barrels. It is rare to find a signed engraved firearm from this time period, even work of the likes of Ulrich, Gustave Young and Nimschke were very seldom signed. The barrel assembly latch is floral scroll engraved and has a gold inlaid arrow pointing forward. The fletching and arrow head are very finely detailed. Blade front sight and a notch in the barrel assembly release serves as the rear sight. Ring cocking trigger with outer curved trigger for firing and fitted with smooth ivory grips. These Pepperboxes proved to been among the best selling and most popular type of their day and would have sold better if not for the rapid growing proliferation of Colt revolvers.
