Colt Single action army revolver, US Cavalry series, .45 caliber, 7-1/2" barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, with letter of authentication by noted expert John Kopec stating this revolver was subinspected byA.P. Casey. He further states that this revolver, #16632 falls between #16630 and #16850, which were authenticated 6th and 7th Cavalry issues. He further states the revolver was sold surplus and returned toColt for refurbishing and refinishing, and that the triggerguard shows a "T" and verified proof. Also that the barrel address was rerolled with a short-block address at that time. Mr. Kopec further states that therevolver reflects the care and detail of Colt's workmen and that all the corners are sharp and crisp as new, and that the grips remain in original near-perfect condition. The pistol shows all matching serial numbersexcept for the cylinder which is numbered 8946, and approx. 70-80% old factory restored blue and case hardening, some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting.
